Jura Calcaire on the world’s tallest natural stone building

The Al Hamra Tower is located in Kuwait City – at 413 meters high, it ranks 16th in the list of the world’s tallest buildings.

A special feature: It is the tallest building in the world clad in natural stone. Our sandblasted and brushed Jura Calcaire unfolds its full effect on approximately 70,000 square meters of facade surface. The panels come from layers 23 and 24 and were manufactured in the format 1,400 x 700 x 40 mm.

The material was mounted on a load-bearing substructure with undercut anchors. The Al Hamra Tower also relies on natural stone in its interior design: Jura Calcaire was used for the floor and wall surfaces, creating a consistently high-quality material concept.
